The LUXE : Gift guide #1

The gold, the black, the luxe – Christmas gifting is here and i’m starting with the gifts you’re most excited to open.

Bath & Body:

You walk into a bathroom and you see Molton Brown, instantly you know you’re in good hands. Bath and body can be seen as an easy option when you’re gifting, but make it a special brand and instantly it becomes a thoughtful gift. While opening anything from Molton Brown’s Muddled Plum Christmas collection,  you’ll get the same excitement that you feel when you walk into a bathroom and see something from MB on the sink.

Classic Beauty:

There’s something about Christmas day.. you put on your new clothes, spritz on your brand new scent and of course, use all your new makeup. It wouldn’t be a luxe gift guide without some seriously luxe products, and the best makeup brands have some of the most amazing Christmas collections for 2018.

Bobbi Brown’s Christmas collection is the definition of party season, think champagne bubbles and sequin dresses … but on your face, if that’s possible. With gifting in mind, this collection has everything from stocking fillers to that perfect “main present”. Picking a favourite out of this collection would be like picking a favourite child, but i have to say, the mini lip and eye palette is genius.

When i think high end makeup there is always one brand that comes to the front of my mind, Guerlain. The 2018 Christmas collection is even more decadent than the usual products, if that’s even possible.. With shimmering lipsticks – housed in the cult Rouge G mirror cases – a jewelled tone palette perfect for Christmas day and the following new years celebrations, (pictured above #1) all with limited edition exclusivity. Pro tip when buying for Guerlain lovers on a budget : Pick them up a new case for their Rouge G lipsticks, under £15 for the ultimate luxury.

Anything packaged in the classic gold of YSL beauty, will lead to an excited squeal on Christmas morning (from me anyway). Even though these aren’t products from a Christmas collection, i couldn’t help but include them anyway – after all, the gold is applicable all year round but especially at this time. It’s a brand i always receive at Christmas from my mum, so it had to take a place on my luxe list.

Goldwell, Kerasilk

If there’s one haircare brand i swear by it’s Goldwell Kerasilk, my balayage is done by a Goldwell salon and i use their products on my hair daily. If you’re buying for a luxury lover who doesn’t wear makeup, but enjoys finer haircare then nothing beats this salon brand, this year they have 4 Make it Magic gift sets tailored to different hair types. I’ve tried 3/4 Kerasilk ranges and can vouch for their luxury quality and performance.

Other people have wedding fragrances, i have Christmas fragrances: Something warm that’ll remind me of Christmas every time i wear it. After a year working on a perfume counter i know that fragrance is something people usually gift, by Christmas eve the glass cabinet is bare and the last minute buyers are left disappointed, get it now before it’s too late.

Jo Malone London

Gifting and fragrance? Your mind automatically thinks Jo Malone right? Right. There’s something very magical about that unmistakeable cream and black packaging; but what makes Jo Malone extra special is the fact you can get home fragrances, candles and bath products to match the fragrance you buy. A fragrance alone is a present, but a fragrance with that special occasion candle wrapped in a Jo Malone box is pure luxury.

Elizabeth Arden

Christmas in New York you say? I think it’s safe to say it’s on most people’s bucket lists, but if you haven’t quite planned a trip for Christmas 2018 start with a bottle of My Fifth Avenue to get the plans moving for next year.

Gold, sparkling and festive, they all tick the boxes.. but which will you buy?
