Picture this: Purple carpet picked out when i was three, a pine chest of drawers bought in the late 90s and big old mirrored wardrobes. That was my old bedroom, until a few weeks ago when the time finally came to renovate.
I wanted to go completely white, so in 5 years it wouldn’t already look out of date – but there’s a problem with completely white decor, it can get very clinical. That my friends is where Desenio comes in.
I mentioned my old room before, it’s one saving grace was a pair of Desenio prints i had hanging next to my bed; i ordered, fell in love, and used them in basically every photo i took. So before i was even approached about this collaboration i had previously been a Desenio customer myself, which makes the expansion of my print collection, through this collaboration, even more special.
When i imagined my dream room i pictured a gallery wall above my desk, something i never thought i’d get because my old desk had a magnetic board attachment above it. But while moving my belongings i had a lightbulb moment – the bit above my desk detaches. It went in the skip and my idea of a gallery wall became closer to a reality.
I honestly couldn’t be more in love with this wall, my pinterest dreams have come true with a mix of art prints, photo prints and graphic prints. The change in the wall is unbelievable, it’s a stylish talking point that brings so much character.
Resting on top of my chest of drawers are my two original prints i bought myself earlier on in the year; the space would be so bare without them, but the 50×70 print size is incredible for really making an impact on a wall. Resting the prints on the top like this means the prints can be interchanged really easily, if i ever want to move them about i can literally pick them up and go – with no holes in the wall. And we all know i’ll be moving these about pretty much weekly for photos..
Finally we have the space above my bed where i have two prints hanging, one of the large 50×70 prints and another square print. Again i wanted these to be really interchangeable, i saw an idea on the Desenio inspiration page where prints were clipped rather than framed and knew it was for me. I already had copper clips without a use so they’ve finally got a home, and this style gives me a “freshly painted art piece” hanging vibe which i love. For a few pounds i could completely change the prints hanging here, and get it done in a matter of minutes too.
My grammable room dreams have become a reality, all thanks to Desenio. Like i said before i was previously a Desenio customer myself, so this collaboration means even more to me than usual; they’re a brand i trust, love and will continue to shop with in the future.
If you want to add some prints to your living space i have a 25% off code* MARIAJBLOGS valid from the 13th – 15th of November.
