When i think of movie magic i only think of Disney, and when i think of jewellery the first brand that comes to mind is PANDORA – this collaboration is a match made in heaven, can you imagine a better fit for a Disney jewellery collection than the band that brought us princess rings? Me neither.
Two weeks ago i was lucky enough to attend the launch of the new Disney collection, it started with an evening on Westminster bridge where county hall turned into a cinema screen, with the promotional video being projected onto the side of the building; we then made our way back to he flagship marble arch store to get a sneak peek at the brand new collection.
The magic didn’t end there though, when this week Pandora hosted an evening afternoon tea at the Kensington hotel, but not just any old afternoon tea.. This is the Tale As Old As Time Beauty and the Beast themed tea, which provided the perfect setting to hear a little bit more about the Disney collection.
Yes what you’re seeing in these pictures isn’t the stuff of dreams, the tables were actually lined with multiple lumieres, biscuits iced to the shape of Belle’s classic yellow dress and stripy blue cups ready to be filled with tea.. and that was before they brought out the main course.
Every single item of food served was beauty and the best themed, scones were replaced with mini sweet brioche baguettes, sweet treats included a grey white chocolate mousse in a Chip cup, and gold jelly with a single rose petal, covered in cream poured straight from Mrs Pot’s tea pot spout – just to name a few.
The entire experience was truly magical, the attention to detail was insane and i really did feel like i was immersed in the Be Our Guest scene from the film. A Disney themed afternoon tea was the perfect place to showcase lots of the new collection, here are my favourite picks:
You might have spotted this little Mickey pendant hanging around my neck in my instagrams lately and that’s because i literally haven’t taken it off since i got it. Before getting this i would wear one piece of jewellery religiously and that was my Pandora birthstone ring, now i have the perfect Disney themed addition to hang around my neck to go with it. Of course because this is Pandora the pendant is sterling silver, but the front is enamelled in black and red to simulate Mickey’s signature outfit. If Mickey isn’t your favourite (but really he’s everyones favourite.. ) they’ve got the Minnie pendant too for a subtle hint of Disney around your neck.
This is Pandora, i don’t think i’m alone in automatically thinking about charms and there are so many gorgeous ones in the Disney collection. We had the opportunity to gaze over the charms, bracelets and bangles within the collection at the afternoon team, which just left me wanting to grow my pandora collection more and more.
The charms are the standout pieces in this collection for me, they aren’t just minnie and mickey themed; you can get Cinderella’s slipper, dress and carriage, Belle’s radiant rose and even a princess crown. I keep thinking how perfect it would be to fill a pandora charm bracelet entirely with the Disney charms, or who i can buy the Mrs Potts charm for just because that’s my absolute favourite.
Although i probably would go overboard and fill an entire Pandora charm bracelet with Disney charms, i think most people create their perfect charm bracelets with specific charms that have meaning to them, so i can see a perfect gift in a single Minnie charm for my friend with a growing charm bracelet and a Disney obsession. Whenever i see someone with a charm bracelet they always seem to have a specific story behind why they’ve added each charm, so the truly magical Disney charms will make such a perfect addition to a line up.
Gifting season is fast approaching and Pandora seem to have hit the nail on the head with this collaboration, i can’t think of a more magical theme for a magical time of year .. Have you checked out the collaboration yet?
