I’ve always said if i could cover my self entirely in something coconut scented, i most likely would do it. You could say my coconut dreams came true then, when i received some new bits from Palmer’s a few weeks ago. Body care actually becomes something that i start to pay more attention to in the warmer months, so these came just at the right time when i start to get the milk bottles out a bit more.
I’ve featured Palmer’s cocoa butter formula products on my blog before but this time we’re talking coconut, which like i said earlier, happens to be one of my favourite scents. Specifically these products are from the coconut oil formula range, i’ve also spoken before about my love for raw coconut oil when it comes to shaving, so having coconut oil integrated into body and haircare products is an added bonus.
I’ve been really into haircare products recently, with oils playing a big part in my new found obsession, so this Coconut Oil Formula Dry Oil Mist has made it’s way into my routine. I have pretty oily hair as it is, but we all know about my love for adding oil into every aspect of hair and skincare routines as possible, so i won’t go into another explanation. I have to admit it to myself though, my hair does get oily; so i’ve been using this while my hair is damp before drying rather than after, to just give it that hydration boost and to help with styling.
I took product testing to the further here (don’t ever say i don’t go above and beyond for you, you hear me?) because i wouldn’t use it on dry hair i let my mum use this too. Unlike me, my mum has dry hair and she struggles to get it looking shiny. So when she saw this in my room she lets say.. “strongly hinted”, that she wanted to try it out. She has been using this every morning on dry hair, she likes it so much that when she forgot to use it one day she nearly drove back home for it – do you see where i get my product obsessions from?
Keeping with the theme of hair, i also treated myself last night to the Deep Conditioning Protein Pack. As my hair is oily i left this on for ten minutes while i was in the shower, and then rinsed it out and i was left with super soft, deeply conditioned hair. Seriously the type of hair you get people to touch because it’s so soft, i became that person. This also didn’t leave my hair oily either, i did have to spend a little bit of extra time on rinsing it out, but once i did i wasn’t left with any residue which sometimes does happen to me with oil based products.
On to the body moisturisers! I’m lazy with body moisturiser and i shouldn’t be, but i tend to slip into laziness in the winter and then desperately try to pull myself out of it come summer. Now that i’ve got these two from Palmer’s i really have no excuse, i have both the Body Lotion and the Body Cream.
The body cream is a incredibly thick luxurious formula which i use when my skin is particularly dry, or what i would reach for when i’ve skipped body moisturiser for like a week.. it happens, we all do it. The body lotion however is a lighter formula, which is more easily absorbed. I love using both but it does depend on what my skin is like that day whether i choose to use the lotion or the cream, the cream does absorb well too but with it’s thicker texture it inevitably takes a little longer.
The cream has to be my favourite to use on my legs which are the driest part of my body, this really does give 24 hour moisture (trust me i just bent down in my chair and touched my leg to check) and helps with shaving irritation too. It also really helps to put this on my elbows and knees a few hours before fake tanning. It’s so hydrating it means it really helps with stopping patchiness, just make sure you don’t fake tan immediately after, we all know what happens then.
Possibly the best part about these are they’re all really effective products but they don’t cost the earth, body care isn’t something i really spend a huge amount on and it’s because you can get great products like this for such an affordable price point. Also Palmer’s products are ethically sourced too, so they’re just all-round good eggs.
