Lately i’ve been warming to the idea of Subscription boxes, the image i had of over priced sample sachets is long gone, and affordable high value options have placed themselves at the forefront of my mind. Over the last week or so i’ve been testing out May’s Roccabox, to see what this £10 box has to offer.
This months Roccabox is a collaboration with Sassy In the City, you can really tell the contents have been properly thought through – it’s a great mixture of essentials and special treats ..and we all know i love an essential.
When i first opened the lid i immediately noticed the new Wilkinson Sword razor, this might not excite most people but like i said i love an essential and this is something being advertised a lot at the minute. This is a brand new product on the market, so it’s amazing to get something like this in a subscription box and the majority of people will get use out of it too. This razor is a lazy person’s dream – i hate shaving, it always takes me ages because i can’t wear my contacts in the shower, so you can imagine how long it takes to basically blind shave two legs. This cuts shaving time in half for me, i no longer have to deal with applying oil or cream to my legs beforehand, i haven’t once cut myself using it and my legs actually feel hydrated afterwards! I will definitely be repurchasing the blades for this and with an RRP of £8.99 it’s nearly the entire value of the box.
The star of this month’s box has to be the MONU hydrating mask, this is a huge full size 100ml product and has an RRP of £29.95! Considering how much of this you need to use, this will last me forever – you use one thin layer all over your face and wipe it off after 15 minutes. I love the results i got with this, i’ve used it once so far while i was in the bath and it left my skin super soft and calm. Also this doesn’t set, which is amazing because i absolutely hate not being able to move with a mask on, but with this you can just get on with what you’re doing without sounding like a robot when you talk.
I rarely wear eye makeup without eyeliner, and seen as the current one i was using was about a year old it was time for me to move on and try another. Thankfully the box happened to contain a Glo & Ray eyeliner pen to save me from a potential expired eyeliner disaster, and it’s much better than the one i was using previously so it’s an upgrade too!
Usually i have to go over a felt tip eyeliner with a liquid but with this i actually don’t, it’s dark enough to stand alone and thin enough to get a precise line. This also has serious lasting power as well, my wings have never been so thankful. RRP £6.90.
What would be perfect to include with a razor? A body moisturiser! There’s a pretty generous sample size of the Mandara spa heaven softening body cream in this months box. This is perfect for the summer months when a little bit more skin is on show, it’s perfectly light but luxurious and skinks in so easily.. I can really see this being brought on holiday with me.
Last but not least we have this iZ Beauty gel effect nail lacquer from the Blooming Beautiful Collection, there were two shades available in this months box and i got the pink shade which I’m pretty happy about. When i think about it i would’ve been happy with either colour, they’re both pretty pastels perfect for spring summer and totally in line with my usual pale nail colours. Think unicorn tones for S/S17 and these fit the bill.
May’s Roccabox has really surpassed my expectations, i’d use every single product and with a total RRP of £58.34 it’s seriously worth the £10 you pay, even less with the code Sassy10 at checkout!
