Even though we are in May, if someone mentions autumn winter I’m all for it. It’s my favourite time of the year and that’s partly because of the fashion..i mean that’s obvious isn’t it? ..It certainly isn’t because of the drizzle and dark evenings..
Boohoo invited me along to their A/W press day to take a peek into the colder months, and see what was going to be on offer from Boohoo for the most fashionable season of the year.
Embroidery, embellishment and florals were everywhere; one things for certain, minimalism is not a world that’ll come out of your mouth when describing pieces from the season. All of the patterns and stitched on flowers were atop of luxurious thick fabrics, from the shirts to the suedette longline aviator jackets.
This jacket spoke to me, i can guarantee you this or something similar will be in my wardrobe come September. It just screams cosy and comfortable while not looking like you’re draped in a blanket, this will be an A/W wardrobe staple, and i can guarantee you aviator jackets will be popping up all over your Instagram feed this autumn.
See what i said about florals? Even though we’re seeing florals pop up a lot in sheer shirts and dresses for the summer months, they’re making their way onto outwear for autumn winter. After all autumn winter is all about the outerwear and lets face it we barely take off our jackets once the chill sets in, so let your floral jacket do the talking.
All of the tones are so warm and rich, and the denim isn’t just denim. Everything has a certain level of detail that makes everything a standout piece, looks like I’m going to have to leave my seriously grey colour palette behind..
For years for me autumn has meant chunky boots, no matter if I’m being told they’re in or not i’ll always be wearing them. So i was pretty happy to see some chunky footwear will be available from Boohoo for the season, i’ll update my current footwear selection by adding in some metallics and maybe a sneaky bit of embroidery too (not on the same shoe though).
Check out the following bits for some serious embroidery and embellishment inspiration ..
Puffer jackets started to make a return at the end of 2016 and it looks like they haven’t gone anywhere, they’ve been reinvented in metallics and bright colours this time round though.
Dare i say it, the sparkle and sequins have snuck into this post too because you can’t have the autumn winter without a mention of seasonal dresses, this time the pieces are patterned with an emphasis on the sleeves. Let’s face it, party season comes around way too fast, but we love it.
