Upping my jewellery game for S/S

Upping my jewellery game for S/S

A few months ago i vowed to get my hands sorted, by sorted i mean actually maintaining my nails and stop letting my hands go so dry that i looked like a 70 year old at 19. I’m pleased to report that i’ve actually done it, my nails are at a pretty normal length and rarely go unpainted, which means i can now wear rings and other jewellery without wanting to hide what used to be my stubby fingers.

I realised that because i used to stray away from Jewellery it meant i had very little to work with; so when Jewellery Box got in touch offering to send me some pieces, i knew i would finally be able to show off my new found “hand confidence” ..is hand confidence a thing? It is now.

When the pieces arrived i was so happy to see they were all really dainty, although i don’t mind slightly more statement pieces for winter i find really understated jewellery works best for the warmer months. I was also really excited to see a mix of silver and rose gold; although i do wear mainly silver jewellery, I’m a self confessed rose gold addict and my collection was previously lacking in rose gold additions so i was excited to add these to my collection. All of the pieces are really affordable as well which i really like, jewellery is always something i assume has to be expensive but Jewellery Box have well and truly proved me wrong!

The first thing i want to talk about is this rose gold anchor bracelet, this is exactly the type of dainty singular bracelet that i would wear. I remember when i was about 15 i went through a phase of wearing around 5 bracelets at once but now I’m inclined to wear just one with a little bit of detail and the anchor perfectly adds that little detail. It’s pretty common for me to leave my right wrist to be accessorised with just a hair band, but no more, this provides the perfect understated accessory.

In similar rose gold style i also have this karma circle pendant, i love to layer necklaces with chokers so this will be perfect to have a slight variation in lengths. Especially in summer where shall we say a little more skin is on show, aka not wearing a jumper 24/7; i think dainty necklaces are a really good way to break up space between your top and your face, i’d feel naked without one! This has really made it into my outfit staples, it feel like it just adds so much more to a plain outfit.

Like i said earlier now that i’ve sorted out my nails i love to wear rings and multiple rings at that, i think stacking rings are so summery and makes me feel way more put together than i actually am. The rings from jewellery box are all so lovely, again they’re dainty but have the right amount of detail.

I love to wear the silver arrow ring stacked on the same finger as the rose gold infinity ring, even though they’re different finishes they almost look like they are supposed to be worn together; the arrow ring is listed as a toe ring but i wear it on my finger because it needs to be seen. I’ve also got this tiny silver heart ring which fits my slightly chubbier right index finger perfectly, even though i can’t usually get anything to fit that particular finger because it’s a weird size and another double band  ring which i love as a stand out piece.
