Daily face: my everyday makeup routine

I’m the first person to admit i’m a creature of habit, once i’ve found a combination of eye shadows i really like i’ll wear them everyday for a month. Its kind of like the beauty blogger alternative to playing a song on repeat all day, until you can’t stand it anymore (i do that as well). Today i’m going to talk though the products i wear on my face daily, some of which i never change and some which are switched every week.

Okay so lets start with the base, for primer i’ve recently been using the benefit porefessional although i have been switching it up between the no 7 airbrush away pore minimising primer and the smashbox oil free primer. I included the benefit porefessional in the picture for one reason, its the prettiest but all these three have similar effects.

Foundation stays the same every single day, every single occasion: Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation in 1C1 Cool Bone. Its the best, i don’t think i’ll ever change my foundation, at £30.00 a bottle its pricey to say the least but so worth it. I use a Real Techniques complexion sponge to apply it which really is the exact same thing as a beauty blender at a fraction of the price.

I only conceal under my eyes (because double wear does the work on my face) and to do that i use the collection lasting perfection concealer in shade 1 fair. Again this is something i’m not looking to change, i love it so much in October i bought 9 tubes and i’m now down to my last two. Time to stock up again when 3 for 2 comes back!

For skin finishes i only really use highlighter and set with powder, i don’t use bronzer or blusher on a daily basis i only really use them when i’m going out at night. The highlighter i use is the Hourglass ambient lighting strobe power in iridescent light and at the minute i’m using the soap and glory one heck of a blot powder. I think the powder is slightly over priced, once i finish this one i’ll be going back to Rimmel stay matte which is only £3.99.

Moving onto eyes:

To prime i use the urban decay primer potion applied with my ring finger, its amazing for keeping shadows and eyeliner in place all day with no creasing.

To fill in my brows i use the collection eyebrow kit mixing the two lightest shades together and using the angled brush in the kit to feather through my brows.

For eyeshadow i’m almost always using a combination of colours from the tartelette 2 palette. My favourite combination at the minute is using either smarty pants or sweetheart over the entire lid and then a mixture of rebel and leader through the crease and used as transitions. If i want to add more shadows i usually apply either funny girl or firecracker on the centre of my lid to add shimmer. I also always do an inner corner highlight using a shadow from the makeup revolution flawless palette but unfortunately they don’t have names, its basically a standard pearly white highlight shade,

I apply my shadows using the amazon brushes featured in this post.

The eyeliner i use is the rimmel scandaleyes micro liner recommended by Zoe (@pvnkroses on twitter) its incredibly precise, easy to use and really smooth if that makes any sense?? With the seventeen high drama liquid liner over the top to darken it. I always wear a winged liner it makes me look more alive.

Finally to finish the eyes i use two coats of the Charlotte Tilbury legendary lashes mascara, which i also did a review on which you can read here

Lately i’ve been wearing more Lipctick and two in particular have become daily favourites, the nyx soft matte lip cream in Zurich and the Marc Jacobs Le Marc lip cream in 216 Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and i always use the no7 lip liner in nude to line.

Okay thats it my daily face! This sounds like a huge amount but really its just a basic base and eye makeup, i find i focus more on my eyes because i want to distract from my skin and thats why i tend to stay away from blusher and bronzers.

Do you use any of my everyday products? – Maria x
