I cannot believe its the end of may; with no favourites post in April it seems like forever since I’ve written one but it means I’ve had more time to fall in love with the products I’m about to share with you.
From makeup i have one stand out item that I’ve been using literally every day in may that I’ve worn makeup: the Tartelette 2 in bloom Amazonian clay palette. Ever since i got this i have barely used any of my other eyeshadow palettes, no exaggeration, the other ones haven’t really been touched. Besides being beautiful to look at the shades are well pigmented and bendable, however i find they do crease without a primer but with one they last all day.
Talking of eyeshadows another favourite in may has been what i have been using to apply them. Previously i did a post on eBay brushes imitating the big brands which caused me to set out on a mission to find the best cheap Amazon/eBay brushes and i think i have. I wont say anything else, they’re good and they cost £2.59. Post coming soon.
Keeping with the theme of eyeshadows this month i picked up my first eyeshadow crayon/stick; the nyx jumbo eye pencil in yoghurt, its so pretty and doesn’t budge. In the swatch below it looks more of a gold colour but this definitely is more pink in real life, its so easy to put the pencil all over the lid and as we’re coming into summer i think its great to have something so easy and summery at the same time.
Moving onto skincare and i’ve been loving two products this month, the first being an AHA. I’ve been using the acne.org 10% glycolic acid lotion for just over two weeks now and i’m starting to see a difference in my skin. I’m going to post a full review on this once i’ve used it for enough time to give it a fair trial but the appearance of my skin is starting to look better along with the texture as well.
Sticking with skincare, in may i’ve been on and off using the Elizabeth Arden 8 hour cream on my hands at night. My hands have been very dry in recent months and still are during the day but this gives amazing relief overnight. In the morning my hands are much less red and feel much softer, they are still causing me problems during the day but i feel with more consistent use this is really going to help.
Finally on the beauty side of things the last item i have been loving in may is the YSL black opium fragrance. Initially i didn’t like this but i started to love it around march and then bought it while i was in New York. I’ve been wearing it pretty much everyday since.
My last favourite is a random one but at the beginning of the month i got the rose gold iphone 6s, its so beautiful its made my month much prettier.
I hope you guys have enjoyed hearing what i’ve been loving the past month, let me know what you’ve been loving in the comments, exciting posts to come! – Maria x
