Leighton Denny's heritage collection

There's only one way to launch a Heritage Collection and that's with a spot of afternoon tea. (Probably the most "proper" sentence i've ever written on here.) Nails are something that i have a big interest in, i love finding perfect colours and Leighton Denny have always been one of my favourite brands for nail care - but until now i hadn't actually tried any of the coloured polishes. So what could be a better time to try out the polishes, than with the launch of the new Heritage Collection?

The afternoon tea was appropriately held at "Tea party" in Tuffnel park and i couldn't imagine a more perfect venue - think pastels, polka dots and florals. (I didn't think it was necessary to fill tea pots with flowers, but now i've seen it, it needs to be done).

Between the sandwiches, cakes and macaroons were hints of the new collection. Obviously you can't drink tea or eat a dainty cucumber sandwich without perfectly manicured nails, so a Leighton Denny manicurist was on hand to make sure our pinkies were painted, in the colours from the Heritage collection.

The heritage collection is full of the most classic array of shades, the type of shades you'd be seen wearing on a weekend in the country (i mean how often do i spend weekends in the country but i can dream right?). These types of shades are always my go to's for autumn winter, while summer for me is filled with bright pinks and pastels, autumn is all about the nudes, dark shades and rich burgundy pinks.

I picked up 3 shades from the collection at the afternoon tea, if you asked me before this to pick my three favourite shades i probably would've picked these, so you could say i lucked out in the goody bag lottery! The three shades from left to right are: "Winter Garden" a deep burgundy pink plum shade, "Rural Sunset" a mix between a nude pink and a peach and "Tea For Two" a pale almost lilac nude.

Excuse this weird example of nail polish swatching but how do you accurately show a nail polish colour??? I'm used to eyeshadow swatches on an arm, and i don't think you can quite do that with nail polish.

These shades are some of the most long wearing nail polish formulas i've ever tried, and i've tried a lot of nail polish. After over a week of wearing the shade "Tea For Two" i only had two tiny chips, and i only really had to repaint them because i started to get a gap between the start of the nail polish and my nail bed. Although i religiously use base and topcoat i had actually forgotten to apply topcoat that day, so that was the result with just the Leighton Denny double up underneath.

The shades are also super shiny which i love, i've been through several phases of nails including a matte obsession but now the shiner the better for me.

I know my nails are chipped in this but it had been on for about a week and a half and i had forgotten to take the photo.. but we like to keep it real around here.

I was about to talk about my favourite from the collection, but then i realised i really can't pick one; i could easily alternate between these three shades all season long without a problem, they're all that wearable.

What do you think of the shades in this collection?
