On Thursday the lovely people at Farfetch invited me to an evening at the London makeup school, to celebrate the launch of their beauty section and to showcase some of the SS/16 trends from the catwalks.
Farfetch usually work with clothes and accessories but back in Feburary they added high end beauty to their website; because of their years of experience in high end fashion they were well prepared to talk us all through the makeup side of the catwalk looks.
We were all met with glasses of champagne and had a chance to take photos in the photobooth before the masterclass started.
Four key looks emerged from the catwalks this season: gym skin, bold blush, au naturale and loud lips. They were all recreated by one of the tutors from the london makeup school on two different models; before the tutor created the looks she talked us through some skincare and gave the model a mini facial.
This was an eye look taken from the Chanel catwalk, the actual look almost connected over the nose but the artist from the london makeup school wanted to make it more wearable.
The au naturale look was a no makeup makeup look taken from Chloe, which to create used a number of different products. I also love the models face in this, i think it looks so cheeky!
The second half of the event involved getting the looks recreated on ourselves, the tutor from the masterclass actually recreated the Chanel eyes on my bestfriend! I think it really suited her and didn't look to dramatic.
I had a really great time at the event, this was farfetch's first ever beauty event and i think they did fantastically! I had never been to an event before with a live tutorial, farfetch were so creative with linking their knowledge of the catwalks to their new found place in the beauty world! If you haven't already check out farfetch's beauty section and the talented people at the London makeup school.
